President Trump signs the two-year budget deal that was passed in the Senate and House of Representatives.
Trump was quick to tweet out that the reason he signed the increase in government spending was for the sake of the military.
Trump said that the spending on non-military budget items will never get cut unless more Republicans are elected in 2018 and beyond.
Trump said that the compromise made in the budget was necessary to get Democrat votes.
Alabama Congressman Robert Aderholt (R-Gadsden) also saw it necessary to compromise with Democrats to get the bill passed.
Aderholt spoke on the House floor on Thursday before the vote, saying that the bill is vital in helping farmers as well as the military.
Congressman Bradley Byrne (R-Mobile) has also released a statement this morning saying he voted for the bill because it ends harmful military cuts.
