Senator Richard Shelby is congratulating a group of high school students from Alabama for making it to the national finals in the National Science Bowl.
Shelby recognized the team from Randolph High School in Huntsville after they recently won their regional competition and now advance to the finals in April.
The team will be among 16 other teams competing in Washington D.C. after more than a hundred regional competitions were held in the past two months.
The U.S. Department of Energy is sponsoring the competition to prepare students for the fields of science, technology and engineering.
