LEE COUNTY, Ala. — Chalk another one up for the Tigers, because the Auburn-Opelika community has been named the healthiest in Alabama, according to a recent study by USAToday.

In the study, each city was ranked based on overall health outcomes, including length and quality of life. Also factors considered in the index were; healthy behaviors, clinical care, social and economic indicators, and physical environment.

The report was prepared by 24/7 Wall St., a Delaware-based financial news and opinion corporation that produces content for sites including MSN Money, Yahoo! Finance, MarketWatch, Time.com, and the Huffington Post.

Auburn-Opelika’s top ranking is attributed to having strong insurance coverage rates, with only 11.5% uninsured.
