Yellowhammer reaches over 1 million unique visitors in January

Thank You

Yellowhammer Multimedia, LLC announced today that over 1 million people visited YellowhammerNews.com in the month of January, a new record for the site.

“Our growth has been entirely word-of-mouth,” said Yellowhammer CEO Cliff Sims. “We’re filling a void in the marketplace. It’s common knowledge that many mainstream media outlets have a blatant liberal bias and disdain for southern states like Alabama. We said from the beginning that Yellowhammer was going to be different. We’re up front about our values and political leanings, and it’s resonating with folks all across the state, and even many people in other parts of the country.”

Yellowhammer News reached the 1 million unique monthly visitors threshold only seven months after launching. The site went live in June of 2013 as the successor to Sims’ successful state politics blog, Yellowhammer Politics.

In total, 1,151,879 people visited YellowhammerNews.com in January.

In the past several months, Yellowhammer News has been featured on Fox News, Sports Illustrated, The Rush Limbaugh Show, The Daily Mail, The Drudge Report, CNN, The Daily Caller, The Huffington Post and numerous other national and international media outlets.

Sims said today that the company has plans to expand further in the coming months.

“We’re very pleased with the response to Yellowhammer to this point, but this is only the beginning,” Sims said. “We’re going to surprise some people with some of the moves we’re making. The media landscape is changing quickly, and it’s opening up some exciting opportunities for new media companies like ours who aren’t held back by an antiquated approach to content delivery.”

Yellowhammer Multimedia also announced today that Cliff Sims has officially joined The Leland Live show, one of the most popular talk radio programs in the state. The show airs in drive time from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. each week day on FM 101.1 WYDE, and can be heard in most of central and north Alabama, including both the Birmingham and Huntsville media markets.

“Yellowhammer News is everything the ‘dead tree’ media is not,” said WYDE Station Manager and host Leland Whaley. “They are connected to their audience, efficient, readable, current, interesting and unpredictable. SuperStation 101 WYDE and Yellowhammer are the NEW media in Alabama.”
